On Sunday morning at the Beijing Olympics in China, Constantina Tomescu-Dita of Romania won the women's marathon to take gold in 2 hours 26 and 44 seconds. She was followed by Kenya's Catherine Ndereba with bronze going to China's home town favoriate Zhou Chunxiu.World record holder Paula Radcliffe after having been injured for most of the time in preparation for the race finished in 23rd place. The world record holder, and winner of two New York Marathon has not won a medal at the Olympics and with the London Games in four years time may certainly have one last chance.
